Demolition Day: The 'dozers moved in, removing the remaining pieces of the Hawkins' destroyed home, and quickly got the ground ready. By nightfall, foundation and concrete work was well underway. Visit the Extreme TN: Day One photo gallery to see the action.

The House Rises: Dawn saw the placement of the first piece of wood for the floor joists, and from there it was all "up, up and away!" By the end of the day, the structure of a house stood on the Hawkins Family's property for the first time since the April 7 tornado. Inside and Out: Work buzzes along, both inside and outside of the Hawkins Family's new home. The roof takes shape, the dormers and turret go on, and the electrical, plumbing, heat & air get the house wired, plumbed and ducted. Beginning the Finishing: While work continues outside on concrete and prep for landscaping, inside the drywall has been hung and is ready for primer and paint. Plumbing fixtures start to go in, and with less than 24 hours 'til the keys are turned over to the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew, the pace picks up considerably. The Big Finish (Turning over the Keys): Only 94 hours after breaking ground, the Capitol team finishes the interior of the Hawkins' new home and turns the keys over to the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition production crew for furnishing and filming. Work continues outside, putting the final touches on the landscaping and backyard features.
